This is a dish called Odori-Don. It has a dead squid on top that “dances” when Soy Sauce is poured on it, activating it’s neurons.

The article doesn’t mention anything about the actual physics of the fall that would work in this phone’s favor. Because of its shape, it’s going to experience a lot of wind resistance. The drag on the phone as it falls will make it’s terminal velocity lower than what one would expect. There probably isn’t much difference in it falling from 13,500 feet than if it fell from 50. That and a good protective case does wonders.
